Domestic Short Hair / Tabby (short coat) Cat

Pip the Cat needs a home

Donate Heart

Pip is about 7 years old. Pip is a hoot when he is feeling frisky and is very social. He wants to meet everyone who comes to visit and is always trying to figure out a way to get a bunch of petting. He loves chasing fake mice, sitting in the window looking outside, getting his chin and neck rubbed and taking naps in the sun. Pip likes laying next to your legs/feet on the couch/ recliner. Pip needs a special home as he has been diagnosed with an enlarged heart/heart
murmur and will need to be on medication for the remainder of his life. This medication is given by dropper, 2 times a day. Pip is very easy to administer meds to. He has had 2
ultrasounds, with the 2nd one indicating a slight improvement in heart function, but this condition will be with Pip forever. Pip’s kidney levels are on the high side of normal, so he has been on KD food for several months as a precaution. While Pip can get burst of energy and act very silly, he needs a very special forever home. His home needs to be quiet and stress-free with someone always mindful of his heart condition. Pip had 6 teeth pulled during his last dental, including one canine. While he would love to run and play vigorously, it is best that his forever family understands that will not be the best thing for his heart. A family that would be willing to find ways to enrich his life that will not exert his heart: a window seat, screened porch, toys that are more passive in nature.

Pip can be a bit alpha. While he currently is living with another cat, it would be best if he were an only cat due to the fact he really likes to steal the regular cat food and dog food over his special KD food. He needs a home that will be able to administer his scheduled meds, purchase his heart meds (about $60 for 3 months), pay for heart ultrasounds as vet recommends and work with a vet on monitoring his heart condition and kidney functions. Pip also loves hanging around your feet/ankles when in the kitchen—so, he needs someone who will be mindful of this to avoid injury to both Pip and his human.

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form.
